Memotori Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

Overview. Memotori performs all recording, transcription, and summarization on the user’s Mac. Audio, transcripts, and summaries are never transmitted to any external server. The developer cannot receive or view them.

Information collected

This application does not collect personal information, and no account registration is required. It does not transmit audio, transcripts, summaries, dictionary entries, or speaker names and voiceprints; it does not measure usage, perform analytics, or send crash reports automatically; it does not serve advertising or use identifiers for advertising or analytics purposes; and it does not track user activity across other companies’ services.

Where data is stored

All data created by this application is stored on the user’s Mac. Recorded audio is saved to a folder designated by the user; transcript and summary history, dictionary entries, summary formats, speaker names and voiceprints, and models are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Memotori/. This data may be deleted by the user at any time. Deleting the application also removes this data, with the exception of recordings stored in the folder designated by the user.

Network connections

Model downloads. Models used for transcription and summarization are retrieved from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Only a retrieval request for the relevant file is transmitted; it contains no audio or transcript content belonging to the user. Downloads are performed only in response to user action.

In-app purchase. The application communicates with the Apple App Store in order to purchase and restore “Memotori Pro”. This processing is carried out by Apple, and no payment information is provided to the developer. Apple’s handling of such information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Summarization is performed by running a bundled program locally on the user’s Mac (127.0.0.1). This communication is not transmitted outside the Mac.

Microphone and screen recording permissions

The microphone is used only for recording and dictation; captured audio is processed on the device. The screen recording permission is required by macOS in order to record audio played by applications such as meeting software (system audio); this application does not capture, store, or transmit the contents of the screen. The accessibility permission is used to insert dictated text into other applications, and the contents of other applications are not read. These permissions may be revoked at any time in macOS System Settings.

Children’s privacy

This application is not directed at children, and collects no personal information from users of any age.
